kidney failure is three times more common in cats than in dogs. It is considered that one third of cats over 15 years old are affected! There are two forms of renal failure in cats: acute and chronic.
Symptoms of renal failure in cats
It is important to recognize the symptoms of a cat with kidney problems. They differ slightly depending on the form of kidney failure.
Acute renal failure
Acute renal failure affects cats of any age. The symptoms are:
- Dejected state, has difficulty moving.
- Doesn’t eat anymore.
- Little or no urine.
- Vomiting and diarrhea appear.
